The DermaSensor device uses light through a technology called "elastic scattering spectroscopy" (ESS) to analyze the lesion at a cellular and sub-cellular level.
The device result is determined using a validated algorithm that was trained to detect malignant lesions and has been shown through clinical studies to assist doctors in assessing skin lesions that may be benign or malignant.
